המשפט מתאר רעיון רוחני־פילוסופי .

הגדרה של נס – נס נתפס לא כדבר שנמצא "מעבר לטבע", אלא כרגע שבו העולם החומרי (היומיומי, הפיזי) נפתח או מתמזג עם הממד המקודש המפגש בין עולמות – הנס מתרחש לא בחומר בלבד ולא ברוח בלבד, אלא דווקא במקום שבו יש גשר ביניהם: כשחומר הופך להיות נושא של רוח, וכשרוח מצליחה להתבטא בתוך החומר.
